Mission and Goals
Mission:
- To call the society’s attention to children with cancer and families raising the children (mother, father, foster parent)
- Help to solve problems of children suffering from cancer and their families. Those are:
- Psychological
- Financial
- Arising during the treatment and rehabilitation
- Mould benevolent, tolerant attitudes of the society to the children with cancer and families raising them.
Goals:
- To get prepared for the second international charity event “Donate me Future” to take place in September, 2009:
- Organize the Lithuanian communities abroad to solve children oncology problems,
- To arrange the exhibition of Eglė Mėlinauskienė photographs “Diagnosis”, hold auctions to support the children with cancer and their families,
- To fulfill children’s dreams. To take 3-4 children to a foreign trip.
- To hold auctions, organize thematic events, sports competitions to call society, business representatives, politics, artists’ attention to children with cancer, and to help to collect money for the needs of their families.
- To seek sponsorship for the necessary medicament.
- To help to solve family (mother, father, foster parent) problems arising due to the stress of child illness (search for professional specialists; lectures, means of therapeutics).
- To improve the microclimate of the oncohematology unit:
- To repair a ward by arranging a painters’ and children’s wall-painting session;
- Displace the old mangy bed clothing by new colorful one;
- Supply the children with cancer with juice and mineral water.
- To develop the launched programme “Children to Children”:
- To organize festive, educative, cultural programmes and communication nights for children with cancer
